I come from Vanuatu and I am a current research student at the Pacific Centre for Environment and Sustainable Development at the University of the South Pacific. I am passionate about our environment, our land, ocean and people. I believe in self-determination for all Pacific Island nations and peoples. As a Melanesian, I will continue to protect and promote the indigenous dignity of my people and our environment, these are our safety-nets as Pacific people.

The ocean is my friend,
She provides for me daily; She washes my clothes and my pots; She even let me take a bath with her. She lets me watch the sun rises every morning. She lets me watch the sun sets every evening. I love to hear her laugh as she rolls over the reefs; And gently glide down the white sandy beaches. The ocean is my friend, And she needs my protection.
