People to people, we are NESIANS! From Fiji to West Papua - Luisa Tuilau

To the young person reading this. You may not know me and you may not have met me but you are reading this because you believe in what I believe in. You believe in Justice, Truth and Fairness. You believe in a world where you are free to choose what you want or accept. You believe that Freedom is achievable through Unity. You also believe that History may not have been in your favor but it does not mean that your future can't be bright. You believe that the power is in you to uncover truth. So, I urge you to make a commitment to the story of truth, the story that the history of colonizers have erased from your learning.

Today the story of truth is about West Papua. It is about a robber dressed as a thief who is masked as a Prince (Indonesia). The masked Indonesian Prince comes to steal from, kill and destroy the People of the Land (West Papuans)

The masked Prince gives the People of the Land breadcrumbs also known as "partial stuffs"; partial freedom, partial justice, partial choice and partial truth.

These partial gifts are wrapped in gift boxes disguised as Aid, Development and Partnership. The masked Indonesian Prince is an experienced Prince so you would expect him to gift first to our home (Melanesian Spearhead Group and Pacific Islands Forum) before he takes.

The masked Prince also gifts to other homes like the United Nations and this is what I term as "the mirror gifting to its reflection".

And now, the people of the land want back what the masked Prince has taken from them; their Home, Dignity, Truth and Choice.

I believe that there are only two streams, either Freedom or Imprisonment (mental slavery and handcuffs); if we buy into "partial" things we become people sitting on a fence, one foot in and one foot out and this is exactly what the masked Indonesian Prince wants to paint in us but that is not who we are. We are not half baked people with half baked resources who are thirsty for breadcrumbs.

We will not accept partial justice, partial freedom, partial truth or partial choice.

We are the People of the Land deserving nothing but the whole package of Freedom, Justice, Truth and Choice.

And so today, I stand in unity with my Melanesian brothers and sisters of West Papua on their fight for the WHOLE package of Freedom, Justice, Truth and Choice.

If you are with me in spirit I call on you to make a commitment in standing up for the West Papuan Truth.
